Visiting St. Francis College (SFC) in Brooklyn (and NYC)

This weekend, our host university of Saint Joseph’s was off to play a scrimmage at Boston College. This gave us the weekend off and so we had an excellent oppurtunity to visit New York City. From Philadelphia, that’s only a 2h bus drive.

But even then, we’re here to pick up as much basketball as we can, so we used our trip to visit St. Francis University in Brooklyn. One of the former topscorers of St. Francis, Jamaal Womack, is one of the assistants right now. St. Francis College is a rather small college (5000 students) right in the city center of Brooklyn.

Based upon our short visit, I think they have a very decent basketball program at St. Francis College! The university being rather small, gives immediately a feeling of being one big family on that campus.

Oh yes, once you’re in New York, as a basketball freak, you also want to visit the Madison Square Garden (legendary home of the New York Knicks), the NBA store and Nike Town (both on 5th Avenue):
